First Round- 55 teams are drawn into ten groups consisting of five or six teams, with each team playing their group opponents twice. The ten group winners qualify for the World Cup, while the runners-up advance to the second round.
Second Round- The 10 group runners-up are joined by the top two UEFA Nations League group winners who placed outside the top-2 of their 1st round groups. The 12 teams are then divided into three groups of four, where each group consists of single-leg semifinals and finals, with each group’s winner qualifying for the World Cup
